Purpose
The purpose of the P2MM Training Workshop is to help organisations gain full value from the PRINCE2™ method by providing practical advice on using the OGC’s PRINCE2™ Maturity Model (P2MM). The workshop will show how P2MM can be used:
· To help implement PRINCE2™ (first time users)
· To re-invigorate existing PRINCE2™ implementations
· To help organisations improve their project performances by going beyond training & templates (i.e. overcoming the issue of PRINCE In Name Only - PINO)
· As a benchmark to assess organisational capability, plan improvements and to measure the success of such improvement initiatives
· As a means for external recognition of organisational (rather than individual) PRINCE2™ capability via APM Group accreditation assessments
· As part of a wider goal to improve Portfolio, Programme and Project Management performance using OGC’s P3M3
By the end of the event, attendees will:
· Have understood the background and purpose of maturity modelling
· Be able to explain the 3 levels of maturity and the P2MM Key Process Areas
· Be able to undertake a P2MM self-assessment using the check-lists provided
· Be able to initiate process improvement using P2MM and a simple 4-step improvement process
· Understand the APMG assessment process and certification benefits
· Know how P2MM relates to OGC’s Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3)
· Be able to develop the Business Case for using P2MM
