- Many candidates coming back to work after their PRINCE2®, MSP® or M_o_R® training feel daunted at the prospect of putting what they have learnt into practice. A new resource from Aspire and Outperform has been designed to help them.
Online guidance which helps project management staff understand their responsibilities has been developed by two leading project and programme management consulting organisations – Aspire and Outperform. ‘Align Toolkit’ fast-tracks the understanding of people involved in projects and programmes, giving them a deeper awareness of their roles and responsibilities without the need to research reference manuals and books.
“The Align Toolkit contains easy to navigate content which focuses on the roles of different people when they are using the OGC Best Practice guidance of PRINCE2, MSP and M_o_R,” Mike Ward, Director, Outperform said.
The Align Toolkit helps programme, project and risk management staff who have returned to work after their training with only their manual as a reference tool. Finding information on their roles and responsibilities can be difficult and time consuming. Outperform realised there was a need for people to be able to look up easily and quickly their responsibilities, the processes they should be following and the techniques they could be using.
“The Align Toolkit is very easy to navigate and allows the user to understand questions such as ‘What is my role in the process?’; ‘What are others doing to support me?’ or ‘What happens during the initiation stage of a project?’. It helps individuals and organisations who want to reach a higher level of maturity without the time and expense implications of writing their own handbooks,” Mike said.
The Align Toolkit is based on industry best practice, supplemented by expert guidance from the Authors of PRINCE2, MSP and Think M_o_R. There are three models to choose from:
- Project Management
- Programme Management
- Risk Management
The Align Toolkit is available in public and private versions. The public version costs just £8 (plus VAT) per calendar month per user for each model.
Private versions can be purchased for use by the whole organisation and these can be supplemented with their own materials such as a gated process, corporate templates, examples of good practice, etc.
